Gas 101 Training for Mayors, Council Members, and City Managers
September 19 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm$100
The Kentucky Public Service Commission and the Kentucky Gas Association have partnered to develop Gas 101, a one-day training seminar for the mayors, council members, and city managers of the 49 Kentucky cities that operate natural gas distribution systems.
Kentucky’s municipally-owned natural gas systems have common challenges, including complying with federal and state safety requirements, maintaining or upgrading aging infrastructure, and developing and maintaining a sound financial position. Gas 101 will educate municipal officials about the financial, regulatory, and legal prerequisites for operational success.
Speakers include officials from the Kentucky Public Service Commission and the Kentucky Gas Association, as well as Kentucky business leaders. The Kentucky Public Service Commission strongly encourages city officials to attend. if you are directly or indirectly responsible for your city’s natural gas system, it is imperative that you have the knowledge to provide for that system’s safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
