Bingham Fellows Class of 2010. Bingham Fellows was established
over twenty years ago and is a program hosted by The
Leadership Louisville
Center.
The mission for Leadership
Louisville is to develop a diverse group of leaders who serve as
catalysts for a stronger community.
Programs and activities are
designed to:
- Develop leadership
skills and capacity through leading edge concepts,
training, real life experience and the mentoring of senior
leaders
- Connect people and
ideas across organizations, disciplines and neighborhoods
to create powerful networks and focused energy that can
take our community to the next level
- Build a solid
foundation of knowledge, experience and understanding of
people and possibilities, issues and ideas, challenges and
opportunities
- Engage our
participants and members by providing opportunities and
connections to get involved, share ideas, have a voice,
and take action on projects that make a difference.
The Class of 2010 topic:
Positioning Louisville as a Green Leader
The Bingham Fellows Class of 2010 has the opportunity to effect social
change through the exploration of quality of life from the perspective
of greening and sustainability.
The Fellows have the potential to create a "green" culture - a
community that understands how care of the environment creates a
better quality of life. The upcoming program year begins in January
and ends in the fall of 2010 with the mission to integrate ecological
principles and stewardship with community and business practices.
About the Bingham Fellows
The Bingham Fellows is Leadership Louisville Center's community action
program and for over 20 years has provided creative leadership
solutions to some of the region's most pressing problems. The program
brings together groups of passionate, informed, dedicated leaders to
use a creative problem-solving process to address real community
issues.
A peer-led experience
Participants in the Bingham Fellows class shape their own experience.
Putting their advanced leadership skills into action, participants
work in small groups to further explore the topic and implement
solutions. This process is peer-led and activities are
peer-executed.
Who participates?
The Bingham Fellows program is comprised of graduates of other
Leadership Louisville Center programs including Focus Louisville,
Ignite Louisville, Leadership Louisville and the Leadership Network.
Graduates of other community leadership programs are also encouraged
to participate.
