Coca Cola Enterprises, UPS, Hercules (Prairie
Farms), TARC, Eaton and Terex vehicles were center
stage in downtown Louisville June 3rd for the
Heavy Duty Hybrid Transportation for Kentucky
Workshop, hosted by the KCFC. Attendees were able to
view heavy duty hybrid vehicles used on the roads
today as well as hear from industry experts from
across the country.
US DOE Provides Funding for Kentucky Hybrid School Bus
Project -
KCFC received official word from the U.S.
Department of Energy on Wednesday (Aug. 26) that it will
fund the proposal for 190 hybrid electric school buses for
Kentucky. The total project cost is $30 million dollars with
$13 million coming from US DOE. The Kentucky Department of
Education will handle the administration and implementation
of the project. KCFC will assist with data gathering and
reporting.

6.30.09 - The
Southeast School Bus Safety Road-e-o, held in Pikeville,
Ky., and Whayne Power Systems was there to showcase its
Diesel Hybrid school bus line.

First Electric Transportation Workshop a Big Hit
11.10.08 - There was standing room only at the
University of Kentucky WT Young Library Monday when the KCFC hosted
the first Electric Transportation for the Bluegrass workshop.
Electric vehicles were on display and four other sites joined via
webconference - U of L, WKU, EKU and the Capitol Annex in Frankfort.
Among the display vehicles, were a hybrid-electric bus from the
Transit Authority of
River City (TARC in Louisville) and a Global Electric Vehicle
(GEM) from Chrysler.
