Funding Now Available for the Kentucky Clean Diesel Program

The Kentucky Division for Air Quality (DAQ) announces the availability of funds and solicits proposals for projects to implement diesel emissions reduction strategies in Kentucky. $90,000 is available through this competitive funding opportunity.

Eligible Funding Range: $30,000 to $90,000 per proposal

Eligible Entities: Any public or private entity located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky that owns and operates its own eligible diesel vehicles, engines, and/or equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, any city, county or other local government agency; private organizations or businesses; universities; school districts; and nonprofits.

Carrollton Utilities Celebrates Natural Gas Fleet Additions

Carrollton Utilities has opened the third public CNG fueling station in Kentucky and added two CNG powered Ford F250s to their fleet. The new station and vehicles were featured today atCarrollton Utilities’ Annual Customer Appreciation Day held at their headquarters 225 6th StCarrollton, KY. The station has the capacity to fill four vehicles at once. Two additional CNG trucks are on order with delivery anticipated first quarter of 2014. Carrollton Utilities’ fleet consists of 18 light duty trucks.

The event was held at the headquarters from 11:00am to 2:00pm with an expected turnout between 800 and 1,000 people. Carrollton Utilities provided lunch for their customers and information about their programs and initiatives.Carrollton Utilities is a municipal utility providing the local community with natural gas, water, and sewer service. They serve 2,400 natural gas customers with an annual volume totaling nearly 10 bcf (billion cubic feet). Their natural gas output is comparable to cities such as Knoxville, TN.

NAFTC Announces Fall 2013 Training Schedule

The National Alternative Fuel Training Consortium (NAFTC) Training has announced their 2013 training schedule for the fall. The course offerings include Electric Drive Vehicle Automotive Technician Training, Overview of Biodiesel, Light-Duty Natural Gas Vehicles, and CNG Vehicle Fuel System Inspector.
