EV Data Collection: The Road to Fleet Electrification Webinar:

February 23, 2022: 11:00 am–12:00 pm ET

KCFC and CALSTART are hosting the webinar to showcase the EV Data Collection program. TARC will be included to discuss their participation in the program. Data on medium-and heavy-duty (MD and HD) battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) are lacking and yet very much needed as vehicle electrification is expected to grow rapidly. MD and HD BEVs have larger batteries and much higher energy consumption, and operate in ways that are very different from light-duty vehicles. CALSTART and its partners are collecting and analyzing real-world usage data from MD and HD BEVs with the aim of providing insights on EV performance to anyone interested in electrifying their fleet’s vehicles. This webinar will cover a local fleet’s experience with electrification, discuss the importance of data collection, and will present initial findings from the project.

Carbon Neutral Coal Research Webinar :

October 13th, 2021: 11:00 am–12:00 pm ET

This webinar will feature guest speaker, Dr. Jagannadh Satyavolu, CEO of BioProducts, LLC and Theme Leader of Biofuels and Biomass Conversion at the University of Louisville Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research. He will be speaking on his work to develop a biomass derived carbon neutral coal.

Conn Center for Renewable Energy at University of Louisville (UofL) has developed an integrated approach to recover xylose (a low calorie sugar as well as a feedstock for C5-platform of biochemicals / biofuels) and convert the biomass into value added carbon products such as renewable biocoal and high surface area carbons. The renewable coal “BioCoal” is considered carbon neutral and relatively SOx free to burn. Utilizing renewable resources to produce fuels (“biofuels”) is advantageous from the perspectives of the environment, process integration and economics. BioProducts has received an exclusive license of these technologies from UofL.
