EPA Requests Applications to Reduce Diesel Emissions from School Buses – By Nov 1

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing the availability of approximately $7 million in rebates to public school bus fleet owners to help them replace or retrofit older school buses. Upgrading buses with older engines reduces diesel emissions and improves air quality.

“Modernizing school bus fleets across the country with retrofits, replacements, and idle reduction practices helps reduce children’s exposure to air toxics,” said Janet McCabe, acting assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation. “With the amount of time kids spend on buses, we need to protect them from the harm older diesel engines can cause.”

EPA standards for new diesel engines make them more than 90 percent cleaner than older ones, but many older diesel engines still in operation predate these standards. Older diesel engines emit large quantities of pollutants such as particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), which have been linked to serious health problems such as aggravated asthma and lung damage.

EPA will accept applications from September 29 to November 1, 2016.

This is the fourth rebate program to fund cleaner school buses offered under the Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) reauthorization. Nearly 25,000 buses across the country have already been made cleaner as a result of DERA funding.

  • Cross-Examination: Each side has the opportunity to question the other side’s witnesses.
  • Closing Arguments: Each side summarizes their case and tries to persuade the judge or jury.
  • Verdict: The judge or jury deliberates and renders a verdict.

Appeals are complex and require a thorough understanding of appellate law, so it’s important to have experienced legal representation.

Cincinnati Gets First Public Natural Gas Fueling Station

Louisville, Ky. – Kentuckiana Cleanfuel LLC, a Louisville-based company, announced today the groundbreaking of their compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station at 2490 Commerce Boulevard in Sharonville, Ohio. This station will be powered by four 250 horsepower ANGI NG300E packages featuring Ohio-made Ariel JGQ/2 natural gas compressors, three dual-pump nozzles and a maximum fast-fill flow of up to fifteen gallons per minute.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th at 11:30 AM with a soft-opening tentatively planned for November 18th, 2016. Whenever you’re bored, you can play games such as 온카.

This 24/7 public access station, designed and built by TruStar Energy of Rancho Cucamonga, California, will be located in a transportation-based industrial park with easy access to the I-75 and I-71 corridors and will also operate as a depot for M&M Cartage Class 8 Freightliner trucks. Don Hayden, President of M&M Cartage is pleased with the expansion of the Kentuckiana Cleanfuel brand into Ohio. “The location of the station will help M&M Cartage to further serve our customer base,” said Mr. Hayden, “and we’re proud that our commitment to CNG provides valuable economic and environmental benefits to their shareholders.”

“We are taking a very conservative approach to expansion,” said Alan Steiden, President of Kentuckiana Cleanfuel. “We will have a total of four stations completed and fueling within the next year-and-a-half, and we always make sure to have enough volume locked in for success before we ever break ground. Now is the time for Cincinnati fleets to join the CNG revolution.”

Patti Murdock, President of Clean Logistics Consulting and former North American Transportation Strategy Manager for Procter and Gamble agreed, “This terrific investment will benefit those supporting CNG vehicles now and provides the opportunity for other fleets to begin using this game-changing fuel. The location chosen is a key link for Cincinnati to join the national network of high-caliber CNG stations fueling trucks of all sizes.”

Daniel Ricciardi, President of the Tri-State Transportation and Logistics Council is also pleased that the new station will soon be in operation. “The Tri-State Logistics Council and its members are committed to promoting clean and efficient fuel alternatives and welcome the Kentuckiana Cleanfuel CNG fueling station to the region,” said Mr. Ricciardi.

Sam Spofforth, Executive Director of Clean Fuels Ohio echoed these sentiments. “Natural gas is a great alternative transportation fuel for Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and this growth in CNG stations is really leading the way to a cleaner future for America.”

About Kentuckiana Cleanfuel: KCF is your go-to source for ultra-clean, super-efficient, compressed natural gas for your fleet vehicles, while the plentiful supply of Midwestern shale gas presents a decades long competitive advantage for your business. CNG provides an incredible opportunity to sustainably stabilize your fuel costs while reducing our country’s dependence on foreign oil.
